End of Blog...

OK, so I've messed around with my review system a lot lately, but I can't really be bothered to upload a review onto Facebook and Blogger, so I am not going to use my blog anymore, because to tell you the truth, I can't be bothered.

Thanks :)

Vengeance on Varos (Doctor Who): Review

Haha, Corey, I have reviewed Vengeance! Now all that's out of the way, let's get on with the review. Interesting. Two people watching someone being torched on TV, for entertainment. Oh look, it's the Oval Office! Sorry, wrong line. Oh look, it's Madge from Benidorm! I love that bluey, greeny cravat that Colin wore. Very nice. Sil's voice is so funny! Sounds like Louie Spence on a bad day! What's that green thing on Sil's chest though? I love the TARDIS scenes, and Peri is such a great companion. It's odd to hear the Doctor talking about his lives like that in the classic series. Similar to what Tennant said to Rose in School Reunion.

The Doctor is such a hypocrite! But that's one of the reasons that we like him so much. The acting of that woman who looks like River Song was so shit! Not as bad as Daisy's in the Great Gatsby though. The start kind of reminds me of The Rise of the Cybermen, because the Doctor has to land and go around to find something to power the TARDIS. Like the Daleks too.

The Doctor makes me laugh. "Ah. Who's this coming to welcome us?" Silly, Doctor! I just feel like pushing Sil off that tank of his. Just to see what he'd do! It's nice to see the Doctor getting on without his Sonic Screwdriver. They ought to take the Sonic out of Doctor Who for a while. It's over used!

Different to see someone doing the job of the audience. Clever. Different. But works well. What a twat?! Slapping Peri round the face. Bumder! Question marked braces. What a surprise! But it was a nice cliffhanger. And to hear the start of the credit music, it just sounds so great!

Funny watching the Doctor fight. Part two is so crap. My god it is so boring. I'm falling asleep, aha! Bloody hell! Peri is turning into a fucking cheetah! Those people need to make their mind up about the Doctor. Is he a friend or not???

I hate this 2 x 45 minute episodes format. It drags. Haha! Gently, gently! Hahahaha! Hilarious! I agree with Peri. Sil does need syonide! That didn't make much sense. The Doc and Peri went there to get possible fuel for the TARDIS, but leaves with nothing.

Overall, it was okay. Not bad, not good. 5/10, as I'm neutral. Thanks for spending your time to read this, and tomorrow will be my first Inbetweeners review. The first episode, First Day. See you!

Next Week's Reviews...

Spider-Man 3: Review

Bloody long opening theme. Had enough of that in Spider-Man. Tobey doing them bloody mouth movements! Stop it! Wait, is Harry stalking Pete? Nice to see elements of the first film in there.

Where did that black slime come from? That should have been explained properly. Paedophile? That man watching his daughter sleep. How strange?!

AUNT MAY?! How could you think a ring was the sun? That fight was the best bit of the movie. The second best bit was the credits. Haha! Pete's face as he falls! And I hope your ring smashes and destroys, you knob! But how could nobody see Pete web swinging?

How could that man think that something of that size was a bird?? Gwen Stacy. Very pretty. Nice that she came back for the next franchise. Funny bit with the pills. Stan Lee's cameo wasn't as brief as I remember.

I love how Parker walks around thinking he's hard. Nice bit with Harry and MJ. Odd though. But Tobey's acting was absolute shite. That walk away was great with an explosion behind him!

Peter's bloody dancing. It's crap. But that scene with Venom in the church was impressive. Emotional scene with Aunt May. What a pervert. Looking into MJ's window.

There we are again... MJ taken hostage. Just like the previous two movies. Nice ending scene though. Sweet. Emotional final scene where Harry dies. Second movie with the ending in a funeral.

Overall, what do I think? It was crap. 4/10. Better than I remember. But still shite. Thanks for reading, I plan for my Amazing Spider-Man review to be up on Sunday. Also, I have a new page, so I will stop with these groups. I'll put up a link to the page when it's complete.

Time of the Doctor (Doctor Who): Review

Funny opening - Going to a Dalek spaceship with a broken bit of Dalek! Classic! Lovely costume. That lighter waistcoat is nicer than the darker one. Good OCD joke. Nice. I liked Handles too. He was funny every now and again.

Then the bit with the Daleks, kinda repeated with the Cybermen. I love the Cybermen. That design is lovely! I actually enjoyed Nightmare in Silver because of that! It was just hilarious.

Oh. The Powell estate. It's the Christms special of the 50th year, so lets use the same flats where Rose lived! What do I think about that? I'm not that bothered. What's wrong with it? The Doctor didn't bang on about Rose, so it's fine!

The bit with the Doctor being naked, wasn't needed. Not funny, not cool, not sexy... Just weird. Never do that again, Steven! Especially not with Capalid! I loved Matt's performance though. It's by far his best.

Why were the Silence in it? They were not needed, in any way. Although it'd be interesting to find out why they kept telling Clara to confess. What's she done? Not as bad as the Weeping Angels though! Front of that month's Doctor Who Magazine: Will the Doctor defeat the Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels and the Silence before the end of his final life? It's stupid. The Cybermen were in two scenes. The Silence were just background monsters on the Doctor's side, and the Weeping Angels, you could barely even see them in their amount of screen time! Bloody stupid.

Then, the Doctor takes off his bloody hair! Bloody hell! It was rather funny! But not necessary in any way. Amy's crack, as Matthew Toffolo described it. Nice to have it explained that it was 'Amy's Crack' in the Doctor's room in the hotel. Nice twist. That reference to the Five Doctors was good. The Seal of the High Council of Gallifrey. That elderly make up was fantastic too. Must have been very time consuming. But effective.

I liked the return of the Drunk Giraffe too. Matt wanted to do that again for ages! And Barnable was so sweet, bless.

You wouldn't have thought that a scene with the death of a Cyberman head was so emotional, but it was. It's heartbreaking to see the main character of a TV show devastated after loosing their friend. Or is that just me?

One of my favourite scenes was when the Doctor was granted a new set of regenerations, through Amy's crack. So after burning off that regeneration, that makes Capaldi's incarnation the 15th. Anyway, the actual regeneration was lovely. I really nice farewell to Matt. Obviously he's known for his speeches, so when he says a final speech to Clara, and then Amy came down the steps, it just cracked me up! Get the joke? Crack? Never mind!

Overall, I give this immense story a very well earned 9.7/10. A fantastic contribution to the Whoniverse. My next review will be Spider-Man 3, up tomorrow. Firday's will be the Amazing Spider-Man and Saturday will have Shaun of the Dead. Sunday will be everything else planned for the week.

The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances (Doctor Who): Review

Now I know that this isn't a Vengeance review, but I don't have the DVD yet, but when it arrives, I'll review it.

Strange title sequence. You understand it more as you watch the episode. I love that music. It's just like a modern version of the old ones. I still prefer the Pertwee title sequence though. I really enjoy Eccleston's Doctor. Works well. And I love how he plays it. John Smith. Nice reference to the classic series. Great representation of World War II. 'Has anything fallen from the sky recently?' Haha! Made me laugh! A bloody cat becomes more important than Rose! Bless.

That child asking for his mummy was freaky. Sends a shiver down your spine! Typical Jack line! 'Excellent bottom!' I agree. The children desperate for food reminds me of Oliver. Not sure why. Probably because they're so hungry.

The Doctor made me laugh with his 'thanks miss'. I keep forgetting that Jack was originally Moffat's idea, even though Russell adapted him. Oh, Glen Miller. Fantastic musician. High tech binoculars for WW2. I love that Sonic Screwdriver prop too.

That growth of the gas mask, the CGI was superb! Great cliffhanger. Read on if you want, but there's spoilers!

'GO TO YOUR ROOM!' Chris is great as the Doctor. Enjoy this review so far? I'm trying to make it funny, but it's not funny at all, is it?! The Doctor's mental! Bananas are good!

Jack said Old Sport. Is that a reference to the Great Gatsby? I really like how Nancy and Rose get on. It seems like a very nice relationship. I think even though we know all about it, the shall we say 'gas mask people' are very scary. Moffat is excellent with villains.

Aww, you gotta feel sorry for Jamie though?! He's so sweet, bless him. You can have a happy ending every now and again in Doctor Who. But not when everything's rewritten, eh Hide!

Dr Constentine was funny. He was great! 'Who says I'm not, red bicycle when you were twelve' was one of the best lines in any episode ever! I loved this. It was so sweet! Bless the lot of them. John Barrowman was my highlight though. I love the way he flirts with everybody that he meets! That last scene was great with Glen Miller. Overall, I give it an 8.9/10. Tomorrow's review should be Time of the Doctor.

Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS (Doctor Who): Review

Nice shot of the Doctor and Clara walking around the console. Works well. That bloody android voice does my head in. Fantastic effects. Though it's a very high budget. Nice shake at the start of the titles. Suits the episode. Matt can be very funny in this story. It's already great! Seeing them trying to crack the TARDIS doors open was great! Nice to see corridors of the TARDIS. It's also nice to see the Doctor closing the doors using a button on the console. Similar to the classic series.

Lovely room Clara goes in. First you see the Doctor's cot, used in A Good Man Goes to War, then a TARDIS toy that Amy made from The Eleventh Hour, and finally, the Seventh Doctor's umbrella. I'm glad that you don't see the zombies properly. They'd have ruined it, like they did in Hide. Funny bit where Clara runs past that telescope from Tooth and Claw.  Then the swimming pool, and then the Library. Then you hear the voices! Susan, Ben, Ace, the Fourth Doctor, the Ninth Doctor, Captain Jack, Ian and Martha. Lovely references. Surely that's all of them! It's not! A book about the Time War!

Okay, it's getting a little boring now. Haha! One of the men died! That's fantastic! It's already getting very complicated. Very difficult to understand. The Eye of Harmony? Why the feck is that there? I thought that it was destroyed, and they were relying on Rift Energy? Oh well.

Is it just me or does that double of Matt look nothing like him?! And that cloth thing that he's dusting with after. Similar to what Davison did in The Five Doctors.

So overall, I think this story's fantastic. I loved all of the references to previous episodes, but I wasn't too keen on the whole brothers plot. I'll give it an 8.7/10, and tomorrow's review will be Vengeance on Varos.

The Crimson Horror (Doctor Who): Review

Haha! Attack of the red paint! It terrifies me! The most horrific thing I've ever seen! Vastra's house looks fairly modern. Not Victorian in any way. Why does that man faint? I know it'd probably be a shock, but that veil can easily be seen through. I bloody hate Vastra, Strax and Jenny. How are they fan favourites? They're crap! I hope they'll be better in series 8. Nah. No chance. Have I said that I love those titles?

Strax isn't funny. As much as they try to make him funny, it'll never happen. Shame the Candyman wasn't in it. Diana Rigg was fantastic. She and her daughter were the only 2 good things about it really. No. There is a few more.

When that bloke faints the second time, I really do begin to worry that he'll carry on fainting throughout the whole story. Thank god that didn't happen! Matt's gurning was irritating. But I love that costume of his. Fantastic. The greeny tweedy frock coat really suited the story, and was definitely a positive. But when he kisses her... What the fuck? Seriously? What a bellend?!

Nice nod to the Davison era when he said that he spent a long time getting an Australian to Heathrow Airport. For any of you who don't know, that Australian was Tegan, who was one of the last companions of the 4th Doctor's era and one of the main companions of the 5th. Having something like that is quite nice in a piece of dog shite like this.

I loved Matt's attempt at a Yorkshire accent though. That made me giggle. The Thomas Thomas joke was lame. I would even say it was plain appalling. It's great that Strax comes in and starts killing everyone though. That's what a Sontaran does best!

When Mr Sweet pops out and appears to be sucking the top of Diana's tit and it just turns around, it was just hilarious! Utter bollocks, but hilarious! When Clara smashes the chair into that machine, it was the only thing she actually did to contribute towards the actual story!

That last faint was shit, as was those kids' acting. Overall, I thought it was crap. That's all I have to say. Utter bollocks. Tomorrow, I shall review Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.

Army of Ghosts/Doomsday (Doctor Who): Review (CONTAINS SWEARING)

Crappy introduction. I just felt like saying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQYob6dpTTk. The spirit joke was quite funny. The sphere didn't look real, and the actors and actresses were extremely bad. Apart from the actress who plays Jackie. I liked the Ghost Busters reference. I love that film! That scene between Jackie and Rose was nice, but not perfect. I like how the whole series links together. Something they now do as a whole era! The Tenth Doctor's first time saying 'Allons-y!' Yvonne is rather irritating. The sets are quite nice though. Very impressive. I love that ending music when the Cybermen are revealed! I hate the Cyberman design though. It is proper crap! But it's a fantastic cliffhanger.

Bloody hell, Daleks! They just killed someone for no reason! Haha! That is great! It's so Dalek! Just like Evolution of the Daleks. Crap story, but fantastic death scene! I hated the bit in the parallel world though. Never liked it, I don't anymore, and I never will. Excellent scene with the Doctor and the Cult of Skaro. Then when the Doctor sonics all around him, those practical effects were fabulous. All of the scenes with the Daleks and Cybermen fighting are great! But the bit where Rose gets taken to the parallel world there are two things I think. The first is Why didn't Pete get pulled into the Void? And the second is: Hahahahaha!!!! And that's the en- Of for fuck's sake! End, you little piece of shite! That crappy ending scene is so annoying and is a waste of 15 minutes. The little bit with Donna was a nice secret, and was very funny.

Overall, what do I think? It was okay. The plot was alright, and I loved seeing the Daleks fight the Cybermen. But to be totally honest, it did remind me of dog shit. The emotional bits just made me laugh, and that last bloody scene didn't even need to be there. I see where people are coming from though. It can easily be emotional. I just didn't like Rose's character, and I'm glad she's gone. So I am very neutral with this episode. So I give it a 5/10. Not great, not awful. Just okay. So tomorrow, I will suffer through watching The Crimson Horror!

Remembrance of the Daleks (Doctor Who): Review

Interesting pre-title sequence. Nice though. They obviously didn't use them that often. That bloody radio that Ace carries! It just shows how much technology has changed since the late 80s! That young girl is weird. Something about hypnotized children that scares me. No idea why. I love that costume of McCoy's! It is fantastic, in the words of Eccleston. I love how the Doctor measures things with his umbrella too. I love the 7th Doctor. He's brilliant. Obviously Totter's Lane is a nod to An Unearthly Child, as it's the 25th Anniversary. When the Doctor say's that that military person is in the military and explains that he knows that because he's very perceptive, it makes me giggle, as this man is dressed in military clothing. The skeleton of the soldier when the Dalek shoots him, is great, for a first attempt. When the Doctor calls Group Captain Gilmore the Brigadier, that's amusing. 'Little green blobs in polycarbonate armour' is such a great line! The practical effects in this were great, and when the Dalek comes out of the metal shed type thing, I just think 'what an entrance'! The cliffhanger was excellent! I would have loved to be watching that when it first aired! Obviously iot looked great for a first flight!

I love that cream and gold design. It really looks great with McCoy. That dude in the coffee shop was hilarious. Not sure why. Just the fact that he smioles all the time I guess. The Doctor acts so strange from here on. It is rather odd. The whole plot of the Renegade Daleks vs the Imperial Daleks is fun to watch. It was great when Ace started to smash up that Dalek. That cliffhanger at the end of part 2 was great. How on earth will Ace get out of this one? The audience asks...

Obviously the Doctor rescues her and she's back safe and sound! But that claw that comes from the remains of the Dalek and strangles the Doctor. What a disrespectful git! Taking something from someone's grave to open another?! Davros sounds so strange!! That girl is a really bad actress too! That cliffhanger was rather dull. It is one of those rare times where the Doctor actually speaks to the audience.

I've always wondered how people do those lasso things. The inside of the ship was great. The way the Doctor spoke to that Dalek was quite funny. I love the special weapons Dalek. They should update it and bring it back. That'd be great! The slo-mo blow up was fantastic too. The space scenes were quite cool. Just a shame they don't look that real. When it was revealed that the Dalek Emperor was revealed to be Davros, it was a nice suprise. But I've watched it before twice, so yeah. Haha! 'Unlimited rice pudding' was another great line! It made me laugh when Davros saved himself. So much like Davros! The Doctor's speech was fantastic. That bloody girl's acting! And that fantastic effect with the Dalek. 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust'. A final great line for the story! I liked the Doctor Who ident thing on the TV.

Overall, it was great. I really loved it, and it being my first classic story, it is my favourite Dalek story. Which is biased I suppose. But it was fantastic. I give it a well earned 9.5/10. Tomorrow's review will be Army of Ghosts and Doomsday.

Warriors of the Deep (Doctor Who): Review (I Know it's not Spider-Man 3!)

Love that theme. I might have said that before though. The set design is magnificent. It looks absolutely fabulous! The way the Silurians speak is so great! They are easily my favourite Davison era villains. I would love a figure of that! Davison's hair looks quite different in this. He's obviously had his hair cut like Tennant did in The Stolen Earth. Not sure why I brought that up. I love that TARDIS set. It is so nice. I really dislike Turlough's character. He's just so irritating. I'm not very sure about all the military shite, but it doesn't let down the whole story. When the Doctor walks around, it reminds me of that adventure game, Shadows of the Vashda Narada. I love the Doctor's catchphrase 'when I say run, run. Run!' The cliffhanger was great. Just a shame it wasn't Turlough that drowned!

But how could the Doctor hold his breath for that long?! The Doctor and his companions are always get mistaken for intruders in the classic series. It gets a bit boring really. I don't really like it so far. Anyway, the cliffhanger was alright. Not as good as part one, but still fun.

The Sea Devils were quite crap in it. They walked like penguins with something wrong with them! I love how that woman thinks that she can destroy the Myrka by kicking it. I also love how the Doctor is so calm about harming Nilson's eyesight. Fantastic cliffhanger. It was expected though...

Obviously Ichtar doesn't have anything wrong with the Doctor. I'm not sure whether I like it or not. The death of that Sea Devil was quite funny, and when the green stuff came out, it just looked strange. The last scene shows how much the Doctor really cares, and how much he really does hate death.

Overall, it was just like any other 20th Century story, in the way that it got better as it went on. It was very under-rated, in my opinion and I give it a well earned 6.7/10. Tomorrow's review will be Remembrance of the Daleks, but might not even be up tomorrow. It will definitely be up for Wednesday though.

The Claws of Axos (Doctor Who): Review

So they ruined the whole story by having that weird zooming in and out with the Axons. Oh well. I love that costume of the Brig's! And the Doctor's costume too. It's just such a nice colour theme. Just a shame he didn't stick with it for the whole story! That tramp wandering around was quite funny. But I'm not sure why he's so popular! The CSO of the frog wasn't that good, and the cliffhanger wasn't great either due to it being ruined at the start.

Bill got quite irritating in episode 2. The cliffhanger of episode 2 was fantastic, and really did keep me wondering!

Episode three now, and it is getting fantastic. Watching Jo get old was fun, as she is a lot older now anyway, and she still looks great for her age! Roger Delgado was fantastic, as was Jon Pertwee, Katy Manning, and of course Nicholas Courtney. Roger put on the best performance though. The cliffhanger was okay.

Katy Manning's acting did get worse as the story went on. I'm not sure that I like the effect put over the top of the video. I didn't really think the plot was any good, and overall, I give it a 6/10. My next review'll be Spider-Man 3.

The Keeper of Traken (Doctor Who): Review

Okay, so I know it's late, but I wrote this review up yesterday. But my laptop went out of charge! So for the first two parts, it was great. A little slow, but having a story start in the TARDIS is very nice, as that didn't happen much in them days. The Keeper was quite odd looking, but I suppose he was meant to be like that. As Anthony Ainley played Tremus, I began to think it was the Master. But then I realized that (SPOILERS!!!) the Master took Tremus' body. (END OF SPOILERS) So the Melkur was fantastic, and I loved it. Even though it wasn't a villain itself. But the way that it walked was really strange!

The cliffhanger of episode 2 was very good. When the Melkur says "It's only beginning" it just got me so excited for the third part. But it wasn't even that impressive. The effect when Tremus reaches into the wall was fantastic! It looked to realistic! It would have been nice if we saw more of Geoffrey Beevers or however you spell his name. The cliffhanger wasn't great. The Master's TARDIS materialising and becoming Keeper?

The TARDIS' console was gorgeous! As was the Doctor's costume. I'm surprised I haven't mentioned it yet. The last scene was nice, where Tremus' body was taken from him by the Master.

Overall, I thought the story was alright. I give it an 8/10, due to a little bit of drag!

The Curse of the Black Spot (Doctor Who): Review

Fortunately, I didn't watch this episode to review it, as I don't have enough time today, so I am relying on the synopsis on Wikipedia!

Now I thought this story was alright. The plot was great. The TARDIS lands aboard a 17th-century pirate ship stranded in the middle of a calm ocean. The ship's crew have been terrorised by a Siren-like creature. It was fantastic. Until the crew went through into the Siren's hospital thing. We found out that she's a good creature and it wants to help people!

Hugh Bonneville was easily the best though. His casting was great, and played Henry brilliantly. His voice is great, and really suited the part.

In that last bit, I was screaming at the TV, things like kill Rory forever, and Kill Amy off instead, but when Rory woke up because of CPR, it was unrealistic. If you perform CPR on somebody, it just kepps them alive for a little longer. They still need their heart to be shocked to really kind of wake them up completely. Don't ask me, my strong point in science isn't biology, but chemistry.

It's nice that Henry goes off with his son at the end, and nice that they return for a cameo in a few episodes time, but it doesn't make up for the rest of the shite in the story.

Overall, I know this was a very short review, but that's all I really want to say, and I am constantly thinking up new words to make it look slightly longer, just like I am doing now. And now. And now. So I give this a 5/10, due to an appalling ending. I believe my next review is The Keeper of Traken or The Sound of Drums trilogy, which should be here tomorrow.

Carnival of Monsters (Doctor Who): Review

Odd masks. You can see the Human skin through it! It's Harry Sullivan! No it's not, it's just someone who looks a heck of a lot like him. Wonder why?! Wasn't sure about the huge hand cliffhanger though.

Nice mention of Ogrons and the Daleks. The Doctor's fight scene wasn't very entertaining, but it was funny how they just left! The concept of them being really small is of course similar to Planet of Giants. Or were the silver people really big? We then see a Cyberman, which is nice, but then the CSO (colour separation overlay) went dodgy! The Drashig was great. I love them things! I would love the toy of it.

Not much happened in part three. It was all kinda wandering around and a repeat of part one really!

The scene where the Doctor has the big argument was very funny, and I really enjoyed it. It did get a lot better towards the end, and got very enjoyable. The end of part four just makes you think that it was lucky. They were very much so!

Overall, I thought it was alright. It slightly dragged but had an excellent storyline. For that reason, I give this story a 7/10. My next review will be... The Curse of the Black Spot. Oh, blimey!

The Tenth Planet (Doctor Who): review

Cool shot of a rocket, but it's a bit too long. Nice title card though. Similar to the War Machines one. Interesting to see a black man in 60's Doctor Who. Obviously back then, black people were treated badly, so that's quite interesting. But it's good that the casting team weren't racist. You can really see that Hartnell's character has changed in personality since An Unearthly Child. He's got kinder to people who weren't family, which is very nice. When the Doctor gets insulted, he doesn't have a temper tantrum like he usually does! Which is strange. Obviously the whole plot of this story nearly gets changed very slightly, in Attack of the Cybermen. Not sure I like it so far, but I've only watched half of part one. Some of the actors are quite irritating though. When Ben jokes about Father Christmas, it made me giggle. The way the Doctor knew about Mondas makes me wonder if he's had an encounter with the Cybermen before. Seeing the Cybermen emerge from the snowy background is fantastic and looks great! I love They look brilliant! If you want real fun, whistle along to that credit theme!

The Cybermen are written so nicely, and speak in such a brilliant voice! They seem to be able to die very easily though. It took less than 2 minutes to kill them all. The cliffhanger was great. Much better than the first one. Hartnell doesn't really do much here though. He'll probably do more next part though!

So straight the way, the Doctor collapses, as he does at the end of part four too. The animation of part four wasn't that good, I think they could do better, like they did with The Ice Warriors. The way the Cybermen melted was quite bad, and kind of takes the creepy bit away from them for me. I thought that they were creepy because of the mask and we were left wondering what's behind the mask, but in the animation, we see the mask sort of melt. The regeneration, or renewal must have come as a massive shock to the audience of 1966 and made them wonder!

My next review will be Carnival of Monsters, and I give this one an 8/10 as it does slightly drag.

The Caves of Androzani (Doctor Who): Review

Lovely opening theme. Possibly one of my favourites. Voice overs are alright. Reminds me of Big Finish. Nice nod to The Cave of Skulls where the Doctor keeps a diary. Very nice. It's nice to have the Doctor explaining why he wears the celery after 2 years! The way the Doctor says 'surrender' to Peri made me laugh, but not sure why! Davison was absolutely fantastic. Brilliant acting! Great transparent effect too. I actually believed that the Doctor and Peri would be executed for a second, but then realised. There are still hundreds of episodes left! The cliffhanger of episode one was very similar to one in the War Games. It was interesting though.

Part two now, and the fact that they were androids was odd. Does this mean the Doctor and Peri were never really found? I don't know. Not much to say about part two. The cliffhanger was quite dull.

The plot was fantastic. The Spectrox Toxemia was fantastic. The spaceship colouring in episode three was brilliant too, and it really set the atmosphere! We really kind of feel sympathy for the Doctor, as he hasn't done anything wrong! The general changed and began to understand the Doctor and Peri which was great, and I am glad it didn't go any further like they would in new series Who. But one thing... How did that bloke not hear the Doctor on the ship? Sharaz Jek got more serious in part three, and that was great. Villains need to get darker, or they don't seem like villains! That's where Helen went wrong in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks! When the wall in the ship got opened, the wall looked awfully thin. The cliffhanger was okay. The Doctor about to crash a ship into Androzani Minor with a gun being pointed at him!

I really see why people enjoy this episode, and it does get more exciting as it goes on! The bit where The Doctor makes his escape is my favourite (other than the regeneration) and is the best bit of scenery! The bit where he rolls around in the mud is fun, and interesting. Sharaz kicking a worker in the face was hilarious and entertaining too! But of course Sharaz turns out to be good, which doesn't actually bother me. There is a scene which is flipped, and you can tell be looking at the mud on the Doctor's coat. The scene where we see Sharaz's face is disturbing, but funny. And when the Doctor uses his only strength to save Peri's life, it is actually rather upsetting, and emotional, and the regeneration is even more so.

Overall, I believe this to be one of my favourite Doctor Who stories ever made. It started off a bit dull, but gradually got better throughout. I give it a 9.9/10. My next review will be about pineapples. No sorry, The Tenth Planet.

The Day of the Doctor (Doctor Who): review

First thing you see: the original opening titles, which haven't been used since way back in 1967. So that is already nice! Then of course you have the I.M. Foreman sign with a police officer. A slight reference to An Unearthly Child. So again, very nice. Then you have Coal Hill School, the school that Susan went to back in 1963. No More is also written on the... window? I think it's supposed to be a whiteboard that we can see through, but it looks crap! Obviously when Clara goes past the clock, it says 16 minutes past 5. The time that Doctor Who was originally transmitted. Then when she's in the TARDIS, she clicks her fingers to close the doors. Something only the Doctor can do?

Anyway, moving swiftly on, the TARDIS is picked up by a helicopter, and the Doctor falls out. I kind of liked this, but I kind of think that it's Moffat's way of making a big introduction for non-Doctor Who fans, to try and get them to enjoy it. Either way, it was fun to watch, even though I knew what would happen.

The first scene with Tennant was good, and obviously it's in this story where the Doctor leaves Liz behind, and then she gets annoyed with his past self etc. I thought it was quite a funny scene to watch, and I really did enjoy it.

The Time War scene was brilliant too, but of course I did notice that mistake that I mentioned in my last review. John Hurt was my highlight actor though. His acting was absolutely astonishing!

The Zygons were great too, and I am really glad they didn't roar too much. That would have been something I wouldn't have been able to get over!

The whole plot was very good, and enjoyable for young children and older audiences, and I loved it. I forgot to mention about John Hurt's sonic screwdriver. It was actually made out of a Character Options Tom Baker sonic screwdriver toy, but with a bright red LED and a red thing glued on the end, so if any of you are planning on getting the toy of it, you might as well, as it is almost an exact replica!

My favourite scene was the end scene though. "I have a new destination. My journey is the same as yours, the same as anyone's. It's taken me so many years, so many lifetimes, but at last I know where I'm going. Where I've always been going. Home, the long way round" was such a great mini speech, and even though there were so many people who hated that scene, I'm one of the people who adore it!

Overall, I will give the 50th Anniversary special a 8.5/10. There are some things it could have improved on, but generally speaking I thought that it was fantastic. So next time shan't be one of the reviews I've already done in a video, but The Caves of Androzani. I haven't watched the story in a long time, so I really can't wait!

Next week's reviews

So next week will see reviews of Doctor Who, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spiderman, Sherlock and a possibly some Jonathan Creek and other movies too. More can be expected tomorrow.

Endless Love: Review

I saw this movie for the first and only time on the Tuesday just gone, and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was really sweet, but not quite sure why anyone would cry whilst watching it though.

It was based on the 1979 novel, but not exactly the same. This was better!

The acting was sensational. The casting was just phenomenal. Bruce was the best actor though. Bruce Greenwood playing Jade's father was absolutely amazing, and really gave the film some character. I think it'd work just as well if he had died in the fire though, but I think the fact that he survived made him think about how horrible he had been to Jade and David.

It is clear from the very start that Hugh doesn't like David, but when David drives Jade off in Hugh's car, he gets very annoyed.

David tries to make a good impression on Hugh throughout the whole movie, but it isn't until the last 10 minutes of the film where Hugh actually realises that he can't stop his daughter from seeing him, and he sees sense. I just don't understand how Hugh could have got that letter from the court, even though Jade is officially an adult.

Also, when Hugh takes his family on the trip, and David shows up, Hugh states that it's a family trip. It's for the family only, but Jade's brother brought his girlfriend along with him?

So overall, I think this movie deserves a brilliant 9.8/10, because of beautiful acting, sensational directing and phenomenally writing. It is just slightly let down because of some minor bad thought shown in the middle of the movie.

I am unsure what my next review will be, but if anyone wants me to review anything in particular, you can add a comment down below.

A Study in Pink (Sherlock): Review

Back in 2010, when this episode first aired, I wasn't interested in Sherlock Holmes at all. It wasn't until The Hounds of Baskerville when I actually sat down and enjoyed an episode of Sherlock. When going back to watch this, I really did enjoy it. The flashback at the start was a good idea, but didn't quite do it for me.

I was stunned by the opening titles, and I loved them so much, and I also loved the scene where John meets Sherlock. It is rather accurate to the book, but slightly shortened down. Having a TV episode based on a book, it's got to be similar in some aspects, and I really like that.

Benedict Cumberbatch was excellent as Sherlock, and plays the part extremely well, and Martin Freeman was also great as Watson. My only problem with casting is that Mark Gatiss plays Mycroft. That's all well and good, until you read the original stories and find out that Sherlock's brother is actually quite fat.

The actual plot was great, and I would never have guessed what actually happened unless I had read the books before, and even then, the TV show is slightly different, as it's more modern. I shan't say what happened though, just in case some of you haven't actually seen the story.

I believe that's all I need to say about this story, and for now, I'm going to give the episode an 8/10. My next Sherlock review will be The Blind Banker.

Spider-Man 2: Review

This has always easily been my favourite movie of the first three Spider-Man movies. Even though Tobey wasn't that good in it, and he was still very irritating, it still has its good moments. Like the train scene (the picture below).

I think I could have enjoyed it a bit more if his costume was slightly different. Maybe if in the first one he had webs under his arms to make it more like the comics, and in this one he didn't have the webs anymore.

The whole plot behind Dr Octopus was fun, and I think the script of this one was more thought of how kids could enjoy it, and being my favourite childhood superhero, and I was only 4 when it came out, I really enjoyed it. I didn't understand everything back then, but last time I watched it, I was actually quite impressed. That scene with Peter nearly running his boss over made me upset, as he was THAT irritating, he should have gone to hospital! Then of course he says "go" in that weird voice, and that just made me laugh!

When Spidey saves those two kids and then they say "yes Mr Spider-Man" made it sound a little peadophilic, and slightly funny. I don't really like the love plot between MJ and Pete, but that's just me.

The fact that Pete's grades are falling in class seems realistic, as if in your spare time,  you wonder about New York in a spandex suit fighting crime with webs coming out of every body part, your grades in class are bound to slip. But when he gives all of that up and tries to be normal again for a couple of scenes, it is just not needed. I don't really like that, and that music that played was irritating too!

Stan Lee's cameo made me laugh when he was dodging debris, and most of the movie was generally funny, even in the emotional bits. But lets just clarify. Sam Raimi isn't brilliant with emotional scenes!

I think that's all I need to mention, so overall, I agree with the IMDB and I'll give it a 7.4/10.

My next review'll be Spider-Man 3, my least favourite Spider-Man movie ever made.

The Night of the Doctor (Doctor Who): Review

This mini episode (or just minisode) came as a rather big shock to me. I had heard various people talking on other groups about McGann returning for a 5-10 minute special, but I just ignored all of the rumours and didn't believe them. But of course I was wrong, and when I got home from school on that Wednesday, I looked on the BBC's YouTube page to find it. And it absolutely shocked me. How Paul could just return to this roll on TV after 17 years and play it so fabulously was beyond me!

There was a few bits that weren't explained properly though. Like why the Doctor was so desperate to save Cas (I think that's her name).

Something I noticed though as I was watching it was the fact that as the TARDIS is flying towards the crashing ship, it has the St. John Ambulance sticker on the right door, but when it goes for a close up when it's on the ship, it doesn't. It was probably just a small error when editing. The same thing happened to Hurt's box when crashing through the wall in The Day of the Doctor.

The Sisterhood of Karn were back, and of course it was their first appearance on screen since The Brain of Morbius

Then of course, the regeneration. As a lot of people are already aware of, I'm not a big fan of the standing up and tilting head back regenerations, and when I saw that McGann will be doing this too, I was a little disappointed. But I came up to the conclusion that when McGann took that drink, it changed the process in his body to make it golden energy coming from his body, and the Master took the same thing at some time in his life.

And I think that's all I have to say on this episode. I thought it was an outstanding contribution towards McGann's Doctor, and the fact that it was pretty much announced that the Big Finish stuff is all canon was excellent. McGann had the same prop from the TV movie too, and that was great!

I give it an 8/10, due to a few things that I don't like, like the standing up regeneration and the mistake with the St. John Ambulance sticker. Leave your thoughts down in the comments, and my next review will be The Day of the Doctor.

Spider-Man: Review

This has always been a movie that I have been very neutral with my feelings about. Being one of the first proper movies I saw at the cinema, I am bound to like it more than some other people.

I thought Tobey Maguire was a bit odd in this, and I don't think he was a very good Spiderman, as his voice is very recognisable and he just doesn't look like he did in the comics etc.

The very long title sequence was nice in my opinion, and I think that having a long sequence like that gets to show off the brilliant music composed by the one and only Danny Elfman. Then of course, you have that irritating voice over, with the even more annoying first line, "Who am I? Are you sure you wanna know?" It just irritates me.

Obviously in the comics, Peter was bitten by the spider during a demonstration, but in the movie, he's bitten whilst taking a picture of Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst). This doesn't bother me too much, but at least he was bitten on the hand, eh The Amazing Spider-Man!

The scene where Uncle Ben dies was very upsetting, and it's just a shame that it was messed with in Spider-Man 3.

The vigilante-like scene was fun, and I prefer that to the Amazing Spider-Man, when he is just walking around the streets! The fact that it's done in a wrestling match is accurate too, and very enjoyable, but Peter is rather irritating again.

The scene where he creates his costume was my favourite, but I prefer the Amazing Spider-Man's.

I would have preferred the Green Goblin if he actually had purple in his costume, more like the comics have, but plain green does it for me.

The middle is a bit boring, until MJ is held hostage by Green Goblin, but the same thing happening in its sequel and the third makes it a bit repetitive. The end fight between GG and Spidey is fun, and when Peter goes extremely high pitched, it made me chuckle!

Overall, other than the silly voice over scenes and monstrously long and dragged scenes in the middle, this movie is actually capable of getting a high score, so I will give it a 7.2/10.

My next Marvel review will be Spider-Man 2.

Hide (Doctor Who): Review

So I have only ever watched this episode once, and I am referring to the notes I had written before I made my video review. So once The Rings of Akhaten aired, and I knew that this story was going to be by the same writer, I was very concerned. As a lot of people already know, I find that story very dull and boring, and wasn't interesting in any way to me at all. But hey, this isn't a review of that crap, so let's move swiftly on with the review!

I was never too pleased with this story, but the main plot entertained me, and I thought that most of the acting and writing was very good (until the end, at least). Matt was brilliant as The Doctor, and Jenna-Louise Coleman was also brilliant as Clara. My favourite actor/actress in this story was Jessica Raine though, who played Emma.

I am a fan of ghost stories myself, I enjoy the Insidious movies and the Paranormal Activity movies, and I am one of the rare people who actually enjoy the Blair Witch series. So I was easily looking forward to this story. It was all well and good until right at the end, when Matt says "It's not a ghost story, it's a love story". That completely ruined it for me. Then of course, you have that big rubber crooked man that looked awful and pathetic up close! It was really good when it was crawling around in the fog!

Now that I've said all the things I don't like about it, I'll mention the things that I am really glad was put in there. To start off, the Doctor states that he has been to Metabelis 3 to collect a crystal. It's just a shame that Matt pronounced it incorrectly!

The Doctor also mentioned the Eye of Harmony, which was the original power source of the TARDIS, mainly used in The Deadly Assassin and the TV Movie.

Overall, I gave this story a 7/10, due to a poor end scene. My next written review will be of The Night of the Doctor, the special prequel to 2013's Day of the Doctor.

Written reviews or Video reviews?

It is rather irritating when for some reason or another, my camera doesn't record a review, and it delays the actual review. Also, my friend Wayne is deaf therefore needs a paper copy of the review, so it'll become a whole of a lot easier for him too. My idea to sort this out is rather than doing video reviews, I re-review all of the previous video reviews in a written format on a post like this. It'll be detailed, and include pictures at the end of each review. If this goes forward, my review of 'Hide' will be up by Sunday evening.

Thanks guys.

New Schedule...

So a bit of a change with scheduling... I will tonight watch 'A Scandal in Belgravia' and a review of that should be up by Wednesday. I'll review all of the Sherlock episodes before moving back onto Doctor Who, as Doctor Who takes longer to watch.

An update should be here soon.

Next review...

The Caves of Androzani will be my next review, but I am still to watch the story. I have a very tight schedule, so when I have watched all of the X-Men movies, I will watch Caves, and as soon as I have watched that, I will review it. I will try and get it out ASAP, but have important school work to do.
