Warriors of the Deep (Doctor Who): Review (I Know it's not Spider-Man 3!)

Love that theme. I might have said that before though. The set design is magnificent. It looks absolutely fabulous! The way the Silurians speak is so great! They are easily my favourite Davison era villains. I would love a figure of that! Davison's hair looks quite different in this. He's obviously had his hair cut like Tennant did in The Stolen Earth. Not sure why I brought that up. I love that TARDIS set. It is so nice. I really dislike Turlough's character. He's just so irritating. I'm not very sure about all the military shite, but it doesn't let down the whole story. When the Doctor walks around, it reminds me of that adventure game, Shadows of the Vashda Narada. I love the Doctor's catchphrase 'when I say run, run. Run!' The cliffhanger was great. Just a shame it wasn't Turlough that drowned!

But how could the Doctor hold his breath for that long?! The Doctor and his companions are always get mistaken for intruders in the classic series. It gets a bit boring really. I don't really like it so far. Anyway, the cliffhanger was alright. Not as good as part one, but still fun.

The Sea Devils were quite crap in it. They walked like penguins with something wrong with them! I love how that woman thinks that she can destroy the Myrka by kicking it. I also love how the Doctor is so calm about harming Nilson's eyesight. Fantastic cliffhanger. It was expected though...

Obviously Ichtar doesn't have anything wrong with the Doctor. I'm not sure whether I like it or not. The death of that Sea Devil was quite funny, and when the green stuff came out, it just looked strange. The last scene shows how much the Doctor really cares, and how much he really does hate death.

Overall, it was just like any other 20th Century story, in the way that it got better as it went on. It was very under-rated, in my opinion and I give it a well earned 6.7/10. Tomorrow's review will be Remembrance of the Daleks, but might not even be up tomorrow. It will definitely be up for Wednesday though.
