Interesting pre-title sequence. Nice though. They obviously didn't use them that often. That bloody radio that Ace carries! It just shows how much technology has changed since the late 80s! That young girl is weird. Something about hypnotized children that scares me. No idea why. I love that costume of McCoy's! It is fantastic, in the words of Eccleston. I love how the Doctor measures things with his umbrella too. I love the 7th Doctor. He's brilliant. Obviously Totter's Lane is a nod to An Unearthly Child, as it's the 25th Anniversary. When the Doctor say's that that military person is in the military and explains that he knows that because he's very perceptive, it makes me giggle, as this man is dressed in military clothing. The skeleton of the soldier when the Dalek shoots him, is great, for a first attempt. When the Doctor calls Group Captain Gilmore the Brigadier, that's amusing. 'Little green blobs in polycarbonate armour' is such a great line! The practical effects in this were great, and when the Dalek comes out of the metal shed type thing, I just think 'what an entrance'! The cliffhanger was excellent! I would have loved to be watching that when it first aired! Obviously iot looked great for a first flight!
I love that cream and gold design. It really looks great with McCoy. That dude in the coffee shop was hilarious. Not sure why. Just the fact that he smioles all the time I guess. The Doctor acts so strange from here on. It is rather odd. The whole plot of the Renegade Daleks vs the Imperial Daleks is fun to watch. It was great when Ace started to smash up that Dalek. That cliffhanger at the end of part 2 was great. How on earth will Ace get out of this one? The audience asks...
Obviously the Doctor rescues her and she's back safe and sound! But that claw that comes from the remains of the Dalek and strangles the Doctor. What a disrespectful git! Taking something from someone's grave to open another?! Davros sounds so strange!! That girl is a really bad actress too! That cliffhanger was rather dull. It is one of those rare times where the Doctor actually speaks to the audience.
I've always wondered how people do those lasso things. The inside of the ship was great. The way the Doctor spoke to that Dalek was quite funny. I love the special weapons Dalek. They should update it and bring it back. That'd be great! The slo-mo blow up was fantastic too. The space scenes were quite cool. Just a shame they don't look that real. When it was revealed that the Dalek Emperor was revealed to be Davros, it was a nice suprise. But I've watched it before twice, so yeah. Haha! 'Unlimited rice pudding' was another great line! It made me laugh when Davros saved himself. So much like Davros! The Doctor's speech was fantastic. That bloody girl's acting! And that fantastic effect with the Dalek. 'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust'. A final great line for the story! I liked the Doctor Who ident thing on the TV.
Overall, it was great. I really loved it, and it being my first classic story, it is my favourite Dalek story. Which is biased I suppose. But it was fantastic. I give it a well earned 9.5/10. Tomorrow's review will be Army of Ghosts and Doomsday.
