Funny opening - Going to a Dalek spaceship with a broken bit of Dalek! Classic! Lovely costume. That lighter waistcoat is nicer than the darker one. Good OCD joke. Nice. I liked Handles too. He was funny every now and again.
Then the bit with the Daleks, kinda repeated with the Cybermen. I love the Cybermen. That design is lovely! I actually enjoyed Nightmare in Silver because of that! It was just hilarious.
Oh. The Powell estate. It's the Christms special of the 50th year, so lets use the same flats where Rose lived! What do I think about that? I'm not that bothered. What's wrong with it? The Doctor didn't bang on about Rose, so it's fine!
The bit with the Doctor being naked, wasn't needed. Not funny, not cool, not sexy... Just weird. Never do that again, Steven! Especially not with Capalid! I loved Matt's performance though. It's by far his best.
Why were the Silence in it? They were not needed, in any way. Although it'd be interesting to find out why they kept telling Clara to confess. What's she done? Not as bad as the Weeping Angels though! Front of that month's Doctor Who Magazine: Will the Doctor defeat the Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels and the Silence before the end of his final life? It's stupid. The Cybermen were in two scenes. The Silence were just background monsters on the Doctor's side, and the Weeping Angels, you could barely even see them in their amount of screen time! Bloody stupid.
Then, the Doctor takes off his bloody hair! Bloody hell! It was rather funny! But not necessary in any way. Amy's crack, as Matthew Toffolo described it. Nice to have it explained that it was 'Amy's Crack' in the Doctor's room in the hotel. Nice twist. That reference to the Five Doctors was good. The Seal of the High Council of Gallifrey. That elderly make up was fantastic too. Must have been very time consuming. But effective.
I liked the return of the Drunk Giraffe too. Matt wanted to do that again for ages! And Barnable was so sweet, bless.
You wouldn't have thought that a scene with the death of a Cyberman head was so emotional, but it was. It's heartbreaking to see the main character of a TV show devastated after loosing their friend. Or is that just me?
One of my favourite scenes was when the Doctor was granted a new set of regenerations, through Amy's crack. So after burning off that regeneration, that makes Capaldi's incarnation the 15th. Anyway, the actual regeneration was lovely. I really nice farewell to Matt. Obviously he's known for his speeches, so when he says a final speech to Clara, and then Amy came down the steps, it just cracked me up! Get the joke? Crack? Never mind!
Overall, I give this immense story a very well earned 9.7/10. A fantastic contribution to the Whoniverse. My next review will be Spider-Man 3, up tomorrow. Firday's will be the Amazing Spider-Man and Saturday will have Shaun of the Dead. Sunday will be everything else planned for the week.
